Stray Paintball Chairs

Stray Paintball Chairs

The Stray Paintball Chair continues the Stray Bullet series by exploring another material common on the streets of Rio: the raw under-construction staple, oriented strand board (OSB). For this project, Elia’s own atelier hand makes the simple OSB chair form, and then blasts them with splatters of paintball paint. The style of the chairs inspired by the Neo-Concrete art movement in Brazil. Neo-concrete art must disassemble the limitations of the object and "express complex human realities". In Neo-Concrete the work of art becomes active once the viewer is involved in this case for sitting purposes.

Produced in a limited edition of eight for each color, these pieces have a lead-time of up to eight weeks.
